It seems that it’s now the norm for people involved in the sporting world to release a book which dishes the dirt on their current colleagues. So wouldn’t it be interesting if The Mole decided to publish his memoirs about his time so far at Sporting Index? Just imagine if you could lift the lid on some of the Kennington dirt, what would I find? – who knows, but wouldn’t it be fun (and maybe libelllous) to find out?

The Total Goal Minutes in the last two Chelsea matches have made up a mammoth 703! So would you have liked to have been a buyer of that market in both of those games? One client was. Now nicknamed Mr. Jammy %€*@#£$, by a few trading floor personnel, he bought the TGM’s in the Blues’ Premiership game with Man City at 130 for £15 AND at 160 for the same stake in the mid-week game against Leicester. THIRTEEN goals and 180 minutes later the client was reaching for the Krug as Chelsea caned Man City 6-0 and audaciously fought back to win 4-3 against the Foxes. Astonishingly, nine of the 13 goals were scored in the second half of these matches. As mentioned, the 703 total make-up of those bets (a 413 point profit overall) means that our man can be expecting a cheque for £6,195 to be winging its way to his door.

The official Wasps website described conditions as “difficult”, which, in rugby terms means that the weather was probably close to atrocious when the London side travelled to Wales for their 'meaningless cup' game against Newport-Gwent Dragons. One client bought the Total Points in the game at 40 for £200 and might have wished he'd have caught a weather report before steaming in on this particular market. The game, devoid of anything to bring the crowd to their feet (probably because they were submerged to the neck), was only perforated by Ceri Sweeney’s 36th minute penalty to give Dragons a 3-0 half-time lead. In the second half things got slightly more interesting and bordered on the controversial as Danny Cipriani appeared to touch down in the corner only for the TMO to rule the try out for a foul by the Englishman. It must have been sheer hell for our man, as even when the rain eased off only three more points were added, making six in total. This extraordinary low tally in modern professional rugby meant that the cursing client was left £6,800 in arrears.

Premier League You've heard about how they probably racked up the record for the highest amount of Goal Minutes in consecutive games and this has had an obvious affect on your view of Big Avi's men. Chelsea are up four points to 30-33 on our Premier League Championship Index.

Boxing Two unbeaten warriors, Joe Calzaghe and Mikkel Kessler, enter the ring in Cardiff this weekend and punters are expecting it to be a long hard slog. Our Stoppage Handicap market is down half a point to 8-9.5.

NFL Is Tom Brady a machine or what? The Patriots’ QB not only threw three TD passes in last week’s 52-7 romp against the Redskins, but he also ran in two of his own for good measure. New England, who are 8 & 0 ahead of their crunch clash with Indy, are up three points to 68-72 on our Superbowl Outright Index.

Entertainment All’s fair in love and war, but not when it comes to dancing it seems, as Gabby was booted out on Sunday even though the Strictly Come Dancing judges have given her high marks the previous night. However, Matt Di Angelo (or Deano Wicks to you soap buffs) was all smiles after he and Flavia received rave reviews. He’s up 10 points to 21-24 on our Index.

So Simon Cowell thinks Rhydion is world class eh? He was one of the outsiders before the live shows got underway, but his rendition of Phantom of the Opera brought the house down last Saturday. The classically trained singer from the Valleys is up six points to 20-23 on our X-Factor Index.
