All the staff here on planet Kennington are back in the office showing off all their toys and hiding their bellies as we look forward to a knockout weekend on both sides of the Atlantic, where we see four mouth-watering FA Cup third round ties (three of which are on the BBC) and four NFL Wild Card play-offs. Plus, after the sensation that was the PDC Darts World Championship, if you still need a darts fix then the original World Championship begins at Frimley Green on Saturday (it's also live on the BBC). All this great action serves as the perfect tonic to warm you as the cold post-Yuletide weather comes crashing in against our lounge walls.

The Mole was going to shy away from writing about yet another high scoring Premiership game but after seeing the 6-4 result from the Tottenham v Reading game it was impossible to ignore this particular client's punting prowess. Our man had not one, two, or three but FOUR winning bets on the match, buying the Total Goals in the game at 3.3, the Total Goal Minutes at 165, Berbatov Goal Minutes at 28 and Tottenham’s Team Goal Rush at 27. Incredible scenes at the Lane as nearly every attack seemed to result in a goal with both defences, seemingly still laden with festive fare, too slow to react to the plethora of forward play. Spurs' want-away Bulgarian bagged four in the ten goal thriller, where TGMs made-up a record breaking 593 and the punter enjoyed a total windfall of over £4,000.

Who could fail to be enticed by the sensational entertainment at the PDC World Darts Championship? Every day the event at London's Alexandra Palace gave us some incredible action and none was more thrilling than the Taylor v Mardle quarter-final match up. One client bought Taylor's supremacy at 19.5 for £100 (10 points for winning plus 3 points per set won by) just as the 13-times World Champion cruised to an early 3-0 lead and needed only two more sets for victory. But Mardle wasn't finished and, to the punter's disbelief, stormed back to level the match at 3-3. Taylor moved ahead but ‘Hawaii 501' levelled and incredibly took the match in the ninth leg of the final set. This meant that final make up was -13 and the punter was staring down the tungsten barrel of a £3,250 loss.

NFL Washington have come back to form at just the right time. The Redskins scalped Dallas 27-6 (their fourth successive win) last weekend to book their place in the Wild Card Play-offs. Joe Gibbs' men are up eight points to 27-30 on our Superbowl Outright Index.

Premier League Rafa's rotational system continues to cause concern on Merseyside. Liverpool followed up Sunday’s goalless draw against City with a 1-1 stalemate against Wigan at Anfield on Wednesday. The Reds are down four points to 23-26 on our Premiership Championship Index.

Guinness Premiership There wasn't any jubilant Fez-throwing at Vicarage Road after Saracens suffered a shock home defeat against Newcastle on Sunday evening. They are down five points to 29-32 on our Guinness Premiership Outright Index.
