We've said this a few times during the Wimbledon fortnight and we're still not getting tired of it. No other spread betting outfit offers the amount of markets on tennis that we do. With up to 19 in-play markets on the men's and 17 on the women's (because they play best of 3 sets and still get the same money, hmm) you would be as mad as Marat Safin to bet anywhere else this weekend.

Due to England's failings, Euro 2008 won't be remembered by too many on these shores but the ones who do will remember that it was an event full of excitement and attacking football won by a team who (for a change) fully deserved to win a major championship. In the final it was not only the Spanish team who could celebrate fiesta style, after one client sold second-rate Germany's Performance at 30 for £300 (win: 25pts, draw: 10pts, goal: 15pts, clean sheet: 10 pts, hit woodwork: 10 pts, corner 3pts, yellow card -5pts, red -15 pts). 50,000 plus Viennese were in attendance for the finale of this charming tournament as game favourites Spain showed not one sign that they would choke at their first crack at something worthwhile in 44 years. The rubbish Germans were totally outclassed by their opponents creating sod all in the game (you might be able to tell that yours truly backed them) apart from four corners, with those points cancelled out by two yellow cards, taking their final performance make-up to a woeful two. In all it was a fantastic bit of selling for our man, as the 28 point profit netted him £8,400.

Michael Ballack style luck for one punter at Wimbledon this week after he got involved in one of the sporting spectacles of the year. Andy Murray's comeback against Richard Gasquet took middle aged women to levels of excitement not experienced before but our man will wish that he'd watched Countdown instead after selling the Match Distance market at 10 for £100 just as the Frenchman began to serve for the match in the third (5 set match: 100pts, 4 set match: 50pts, 3 set match: 0pts). The Frenchman double faulted to lose his serve and, eventually, the set. From then on it was all Murray as the Centre Court crowd got a glimpse of talent by a Brit for the first time in a long while. The Scot Brit took the fourth 6-2 and in the darkness held his serve to win 6-4 in the final set and set the world record for the number of fist pumps and shouts of "come on" in the space of 30 seconds. Let's just hope that our man didn't put himself through the torture of watching those celebrations which cost him £9,000.

Formula One It seems not everyone has lost faith in Lewis Hamilton. It's the British GP at Silverstone this weekend and the Stevenage star is up half a point to 10.5-12 on our Qualifying Index and up one to 34-37 on our Race Index.

Big Brother Were you devastated by the news that Big Brother 9 MIGHT be axed! No need to go clambering for the Kleenex just yet folks, it's still on-air for now. Is Luke (you know the one who looks likes Justin Timberlake apparently) suffering from his associations with Jen and Bex etc? He's down seven to 9-12 since last week.

Mildly interesting / useless sporting fact

The Murray brothers were described as "unbelievably competitive" when growing up and when Andy first beat Jamie in an under-12s final in Solihull, he teased his brother so much that Jamie retaliated and hit him hard enough to lose the nail on his left hand which put Andy out of action for a month.
