(To the tune of Inner Circle's Bad Boys) "Wideboyz, Wideboyz, what you gunna do, what you gunna do when they bowl at you?" That's the tune on everybody’s lips around the office this week as we launched our fantastic Cricket World Cup competition – WIDEBOYZ! Click here to enter and you could be in with a chance to win £1,500 cash plus some great runners-up prizes.

Apart from the humming the builders have been in this week installing beds for our traders in preparation for the next few weeks of heightened sporting activity. Marriages have been annulled and relationships terminated by text message as the only thing that the traders are going to see from now on is a Racing Post, a computer and a telephone. So give them a bell and keep them company!

Yours in (lots of) sport,

PS - Don't forget to keep sending in your good and bad trades to themole@sportingindex.com for your chance to win a £50 football supremacy bet.

The Saints have come good again! After a stuttering early start to the season St. Helens blitzed Bradford on Friday. One clever punter bought St Helens supremacy over Bradford at 6 for £20 and Saints, buoyed by their season turning World Club Championship win against Brisbane two weeks ago, went over five times in the first 20 minutes to put Bradford well out of the game. The client closed his position after the fifth try, selling back at 33 to make a 27 point profit of £540 – not bad for twenty minutes work!

Joyous if you're a Spurs fan, catastrophic if you're a Hammer, but very profitable if you bought the Total Goal Minutes in the West Ham v Tottenham game on Sunday. One client had himself £50 worth at 135 before the game. So imagine having that position as you witness five second half goals in the 51st, 63rd, 85th, 89th and 90th minutes to bring the final total of the market to a gargantuan 435! Some of the football traders who priced up that game have been seen eating just beans on toast this week as this lucky client scooped a profit of £15,000.

The big talking point of the sports week was of the 'athlete' and new world cricketing hero Dwayne Leverock of Bermuda. No one expected anything other than a comfortable low-key victory for England when they squared up to the Caribbean minnows on Monday. One client after seeing Captain Vaughan hit a couple of boundaries got in and bought England runs at 348 for £5. The very next ball Vaughan was out trying a third boundary in succession and then the slow left arm of 20-stone Leverock helped restrict England to just 286-8 at the end of their 50 overs. That spell of portly perfection helped leave the client starved of £310.

When you have bought the time of the first goal scored by a team the last thing you want to hear is "and that is the quickest ever goal in Champions League history". But it was the law of the sod for one client who bought the time of the first Bayern Munich goal against Real Madrid in the on Wednesday night. She bought at 52 for £3 and the bet lasted all of 7 seconds as an aging ex 24-inch thighed Roberto Carlos gifted Roy Maakay the opener straight from the kick off. Cue the client’s heart to sink and a £153 loss.

Cheltenham It's almost here, but with rain continuing to sprinkle the Prestbury Park course the Distances market for the festival have leapt up eight points from 88-94 to 96-102.

Six Nations After a week of dreadful injury misery for Brian Ashton, England are down two points from 21-24 to 19-22 on our Six Nations Outright Index. But don't worry, wooden spoon favourites Scotland dropped below the Italians in the index, they are 3-5 while the Italians are 5-7.

Cricket World Cup Hotly tipped New Zealand's blip against top minnows Bangladesh has shaken a few of you out there and the Kiwi's are down one point to 42-46 in our Outright Index. The Aussies remain jollies and currently stand at 67-71.

Meanwhile in the plethora of tournament markets that we are offering, fears of a low scoring competition have brought Total Runs down 150 runs to 20950-21200, Total Batsman Ton-Ups down 85 to 455-490, and the Total Skittles (aggregate total of runs where teams are out for less than 100 runs) up 20 to 140-165.

Primera Liga How the mighty are falling! As well as their Champions League exit in midweek, people are not confident that Barcelona can retain their La Liga title. After losing 2-1 away to top rivals Sevilla, Rijkaard's men are down four points to 47-50 in our Primera Liga Championship Index.

Championship Despite Birmingham beating Cardiff 1-0 at home, Derby closed the gap on them with their 2-1 win away to Norwich. The two teams are trading blows at the top of the most demanding domestic league in the world and are now priced the same in our Index at 31-34 (with The Blues having one game in hand).
