It's here! A whole 80 days since Liverpool lost to Milan AC in the Champions League Final, competitive football is back with all four professional leagues unusually kicking off together this weekend. So strap yourself in and we hope you will join us for every kick, throw, shout, scream and hairband adjustment that the new football season has to offer.

There's nothing more satisfying for an Englishman than to completely drub the Welsh at rugby (even though it was their third string). But that is exactly what happened at Twickenham last Saturday. One punter enjoyed a cracking win as he bought England Multi Points at 290 for £25. The World Champions were too much for the depleted Welsh going in at half-time 22-0 up. England wasted only five minutes until they powered over the line again, this time Nick Easter grabbing the third of his four tries. England amassed a total of 40 points in the second half to give the market a total of 880 (22 x 40) which left our jubilant client celebrating his £14,750 bonanza.

It never fails to live up to anything but its name. The festival at Goodwood last week was as glorious as ever, shimmering with sun and saddles. The racing wasn't too bad either, with the highlight as always being the Steward's Cup. One client would have been sweating (not just because of the heat) on his position after buying Zidane at 11 for £150. The James Fanshawe trained five-year-old didn't travel all that well but he knuckled down to nail last year's winner Borderlescott on the line by a short head. Squeaky bum time for the client but he still waddled away with an extra £5,796 in his sky rocket.

Mr. O from the East Midlands shares with us some Mole gold..."Sorry, can't or simply refuse to remember the exact date of this trade but from painful recollection I can say that it was from a match in the Euro Championship finals around 12 years ago. Having sold the time of the first throw-in somewhere around 120 seconds for £5, I was shocked to see the ball comfortably stay in play for the best part of three minutes. When a throw was finally given I wasn't spared, as just as it was being taken it appeared that someone had thrown a sandwich on the pitch! The referee, thinking that something more suspicious was afoot, halted the game for another three minutes. Now 360 seconds had elapsed before the throw-in was taken and play restarted and I was in terrible trouble losing over £1,300. The trade came to the attention of the Racing Post who published a small article the next day titled; Sandwich Costs Spread Customer Dear! - painful memories indeed".

'Pre-Season Nasty' was the headline in a Dutch newspaper after Feyenoord and Liverpool literally got to grips with each other in the Port of Rotterdam Tournament last week. One client is still wondering why he chose to get involved after selling the 'books' at 7 for £50. The one-all draw was not the main talking point as the referee (a buyer?) did his best to stir it up by handing out meaningless cards which seemed only to raise the player's temperatures. In all, nine players were booked and without some timely substitutions by both managers our man could have been a lot worse off than the £4,150 loss he incurred.

Premiership England reject, Sven-Goran Eriksson, has been splashing the cash at Eastlands this summer. But will all the spending bear fruit? Man City season points continue to rise, up another half to 46.5-48.

Lawrie Sanchez is another new boss who's been getting his wads out. Hameur Bouazza became the eighth player to join the Fulham flock when he put pen to paper this week. The punters are linking Lawrie's approach as The Cottagers are down a point to 17-20 on our Premiership – Relegation Index.

Championship West Brom waved goodbye to Diomansy Kamara and Jason Koumas during the break. How will those losses affect the Baggies this season? WBA season points are down a point to 72-74.

SPL One half of Glasgow was left red-faced last Sunday as Celtic were held to a 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock. Not the best start for the Bhoys especially as Rangers opened with a stress-free 3-0 victory. Celtic remain favourites in our Old Firm season match bet, but the price has tumbled eight points to 2-6.

USPGA Tim Clark may not have made an appearance at Carnoustie last month, but he recorded top-20 finishes at the Masters and the US Open. The South African swinger's Finishing Position price was down a point to 42-45 before he teed off at Southern Hills yesterday.

Punters expect many a sweaty brow and crotch in Tulsa this week. One of our numerous tournament specials, 'Players Under Par', is down three to 11-14.
