Brian Ashton is looking for that X-factor in his players. So, instead of calling upon Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, he has opted for the giant Tongan wing Lesley Vianikolo in his 32-man squad for the Six Nations. A brave move? Or will this bring a wave of foreign stars making themselves available for selection by England? Anyway, if you can't wait for the Six Nations you can get a major hit of egg chasing action when Sky Sports put on NINE live Heineken Cup matches this weekend, all of which will be traded in running by your favourite sports spread betting company.

The weekend's FA Cup action threw up some “acca breakers”, but how about this for a nice little double: one giant-killing loving client bought the Win Indices of both Oldham and Coventry at 3.5 for £250, as they faced quality Premiership opposition in the form of Everton and Blackburn respectively. The client, sitting patiently in front of Mr. Stelling and co. would have been ecstatic as Coventry went one up at the same time as the Everton match was kicking off late due to a fire in a local chip shop (well it's the European Capital of Culture after all). After Oldham broke the deadlock with an audacious chip shot by Gary McDonald both teams never looked back, with Coventry scoring four and The Latics, thankful for the woodwork, earning a deserved victory at Goodison. These shock results left our punter reaping the rewards of TWO 25-point make-ups, which brought home a total profit of £10,750.

If you’re after glitz, glamour and good looks then you shouldn’t be tuning into the BDO Darts World Championships. But if you’re looking for some truly exciting sporting action with some shocks thrown in then The Lakeside Country Club is your place. The BBC tournament might appear a tad dated these days, but when the tournament favourite goes out in the first round it certainly makes for compulsive viewing. One client will be cursing his luck after buying outright favourite Gary Anderson on our 60-40-20-10 Index at 28 for £200. No one would have expected the Scotsman to come unstuck against unknown Fabian Roosenbrand, but he did, going down 3-2 to the painter from The Netherlands. Maybe our man should have noted that this is the fourth time Anderson has crashed out in the first round in the last five attempts and that he didn’t even practice for the tournament. ‘Dreamboy’s’ defeat and zero make-up on the index meant that the client chalked up a loss of £5,600 on this trade on the tungsten.

NFL The Giants love the jet set lifestyle. The Big Apple boys notched their eighth straight away win when beating the Tampa Bay Bucs last weekend and they are up 12 points to 39-42 on our Superbowl Outright Index.

FA Cup The 3rd Round of the Cup is always a magical time and last weekend was no different. There were shocks galore, but none of the ‘Big Four’ were left red-faced. Late goals from Ronaldo and Rooney gave Man Utd victory at Villa Park and the Red Devils are up 13 points to 50-53 on our FA Cup Outright Index.

US Presidential Race Former first lady, Hillary Clinton, showed her sensitive side (she turned on the waterworks) and it worked wonders in New Hampshire earlier this week. The Democrat candidate is up a point to 11-12.5 on our US Presidential Election Index. Plus The Mole thinks she's hot!
