I may not be the most popular underground mammal around here at the moment given this weekend's big game, but as The Mole has ventured down the local Thomas Cook to find out if there are any last minute cheap flights you're stuck with me, The Armadillo (star spangled banner et al), to take you through another week at a rather frantic SPIN headquarters.

Anyway, as you read this World Cup 2010 will be underway. We want to make this the best ever punting experience for our clients. So let's start off by offering a £200 Total Goals bet on any World Cup match next week, if you're the correct client out of my Yankees Cap that can tell me how many goals will be scored in the six World Cup games played this Saturday and Sunday. Email themole@sportingindex.com before 12.30pm on Saturday.

Yours in the worst type of horn I've ever heard about

Let's face it, no one is gonna give one about cricket over the next four weeks or so, but before it left your nation's conscience on Sunday, England had the pleasure of entertaining Bangladesh at Old Trafford. After putting up a small fight in the first Test the Bangladeshi's took to the field in confident mood. And after getting rid of England's lower order pretty damn quickly after lunch on day two, their opening batsman put on a century together and looked in good form going into the final session. However, one client wasn't buying our traders confidence and sold their Runs at 292 for £400 a run. I'm not sure if this guy can be classed a genius or if he was just plain lucky but what happened next was pretty awesome. After Steven Finn took the wicket of Imrul Kayes and Swanny got his long overdue first wicket of the series, a collapse of English size proportions took place with another eight wickets falling in the space of 20 overs. Despite a quick fire century from Tamin (108 runs from 114 balls) the tourists could only muster 216, which resulted in an awesome £30,400 profit for our man. OH MY GOD!!

There was a huge race on our side of the pond this past weekend as Drosselmeyer won the Belmont in New York with the favourite Ice Box finishing 9th out of 12. However he wasn't the only favourite to freeze on the big occasion. Epsom has seen many studs hack up in the past; Motivator, Authorized and Sea The Stars have all cantered home in recent years. But amazingly Irish trainer Aiden O'Brian hasn't had a winner in the UK's biggest race since High Chaparral in 2002. Jan Vermeer was this year's O'Brian effort and much had been made of the favourite's chances with Johnny Murtagh on board. One client was positive it was O'Brian's year and bought the jolly on our Win Index at 24 for £200. The market pays 50 for 1st place, 30 for 2nd, 20 for 3rd and 10 for 4th. From the very start Jan struggled to get going and as they rounded Tattenham Corner, both Jan and eventual winner Workforce had eight lengths to make up on pacemaker At First Sight. Whilst Workforce managed to make-up the distance and record the quickest Derby victory in history, O'Brian's horse couldn't get going and only managed to scrape his way into fourth, making-up just 10 and a £2,800 loss for our man.

You Know What It's the usual suspects that head our World Cup Outright Index. Spain still lead the way but with a tricky Last 16 draw in store they're now down one point to 42-45, followed by Brazil on 41-44. The big moves have seen the impressive Dutch move up four points to 31-34 and after England's lacklustre performances against Mexico and Japan they have been cut two points to 37-40. Can England prove the doubters wrong or will it be another summer of strain and pain for Capello's men.

The world's best strikers are all set to battle it out for the prestigious prize of the Golden Boot, but who will have the golden touch in South Africa? Robin Van Persie has been banging in the goals during Holland's warm-up games and as a result punters have been quick to latch onto the Dutchman after his goals against Mexico and Japan sent his price on our Golden Boot Index up three points to 31-34.

Watch out for my boy Clint this weekend, and yes this is him rapping (skip to 2.30 and enjoy). What price Rooney does this on Saturday night? If Spain do this, what's the point of the other 31 teams turning up? And finally, I don't know if I have ever seen a better goal line clearance.

Diary of a Spread Bettor "Just 48 hours to go until the World Cup and it's time to start the mother of all ante-post portfolios. I'm particularly happy with my £5 buy of Serbia bookings at 122. I fancy them to go a long way in the tournament and pick up plenty of cards on the way...I've been wrong before though!" Click here for Bill's pre World Cup scribblings.
