Following a sleepy start to the tournament the Six Nations woke up in some style this weekend. Forget England, we were treated to a fine French performance against the Irish and even more incredibly, we saw a match that will live on in Welsh hearts and Scottish toilets. One incredible piece of trading worthy of a match like this was a client's decision to sell Scotland's Supremacy over the Welsh at 7 for £250. Just after Dan Parks, from miles out, had landed a stunning drop goal to put the Scots 24-14 ahead with just 13 minutes left. Scotland had been superb, Wales a mess. Then the game turned and hooker Rory Lawson signed his own death warrant when he was yellow carded with six minutes to go. Wales pressed and were finally rewarded when Leigh Halfpenny scampered under the posts and Jones converted. The client was happy, Wales were within three of the draw, but another cynical piece of play handed the home side a kick for three which Jones gladly gobbled up. That was it. Scotland would just kick the ball out of...back into Welsh hands, madness! Jones puts up a high one into acres of space, the 13 men can't deal with it and Shane Williams goes over to complete the most farcical of comebacks. Wales win by 7 points, a 14 point swing and £3,500 profit for that most brave of punters.

As Jamie O'Hara completed that amazing South-Coast second half rout I thought there would be a more than a good chance that I'd be writing about some poor Saints fan's misfortune in these pages. That was until around 15 minutes later when I saw the most dramatic of things at Newbury (and it wasn't the sight of our Client Services Director without a glass of red in his hand). Newbury is Denman's spiritual home, he's never lost there. One client wanted some 'free money' and bought the enigma at a huge 45 for £100 on the Race Index (with a max make-up of 50 it's a not-so-technically 5/1 shot). With perhaps the greatest jump jockey on board and no real quality in the field it was a shoe-in. Denman had travelled and jumped smoothly for much of the three mile race and never looked like being defeated until he met the last open ditch all wrong, forcing AP into an incredible balancing act. The momentum was gone, the punter's heart stopped as Denman was passed for the first time. They approached the third last, the favourite blundered again and this time there was no salvation for McCoy or the punter as the jockey fell onto the turf. Rider unseated means a make-up of nought and the most unfortunate £4,500 loss.

Six Nations The media were less than impressed with Martin Johnson's outfit at the weekend and so are you! The visitors were hanging on at the death as the Azzurri kicked their way to a two point deficit, but a late Johnny Wilkinson drop-goal was enough to keep them at bay. That lacklustre performance means England are down two points on our Six Nations Outright Index to 28-31.
Wales on the other hand will be buzzing after THAT game! Will this Cardiff comeback spur on the Welsh? Warren Gatland's side have been bought up two points on the same index to 18-21.
FA Cup Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock was left fuming at the final whistle on Sunday after visitors Aston Villa earned a replay via a corner that never was. Has the linesman's howler cost them their chance of reaching Wembley? Palace are down two on our FA Cup Outright Index to 23-25.
Sporting video fun
Not much came over my desk this week but then I stumbled on this viral which is doing the rounds. Forget that it's Arsenal beating Liverpool, it's how you'd describe to an alien what going to a football match is like.
