If your enjoyment of the Six Nations Championship is totally dependent on how your country fared, then it was a non-event for the English, Irish and French, had its moments for the Scots and Italians, but was truly sensational for the Welsh. On Saturday, champions-elect Wales took on France, who needed a 20 point win to steal the title, at a white hot Millennium Stadium. One lucky punter had every faith in Warren Gatland's side and chose to buy the time of the first French try at 42 for £100. A bold move considering France had not lost a championship game in Cardiff for 12 years, but it turned out to be the right one. The French were nothing short of merde as they struggled to maintain any sort of grip on the match as a phenomenal Martyn Williams (amongst others) kept them away from the try line. Wales' 29-12 win completed a transformation from World Cup flops to secure their second Grand Slam in four years and send the Mumbles mad! The French blank pocketing our man £3,800 in the process.
