Sport is full of highs and lows and it's fair to say that this past sporting week has seen its fair share. We had major incidents of differing proportions on and off the pitch in the West Indies, a thrilling finish to the Six Nations and Kauto Star hacking up in the Gold Cup. So what better to bring us back to earth than the return of the international football week complete with turgid performances, unflattering scorelines and harrowing press condemnation!

Some feisty shenanigans north of the border this weekend (unlike the Scottish to like a fight) as Falkirk put the Celtic title celebrations on hold for a short while. One client bought bookings in-running just after kick-off at 36 for £25 as 'The Bairns' went on to beat the Old Firm giants 1-0 in an ill tempered game which saw seven bookings and two sendings off - including one good old fashioned Glasgow Kiss. Incidentally it is the first time in 13 years that Celtic have lost three games in a row AND 13 years since they failed to score in three games in a row! But the punter didn't care about that! He was overjoyed to see it kick-off, cheering every card that the referee produced and banking a £2,100 profit.

As we say goodbye to the Six Nations for another year it was not all bad for the Irish even though they missed out on the title in sensational fashion. One Irish client bought Ireland Multi-points at 270 for €10 against Italy on St. Patrick's Day (the total team's points in the first half multiplied by their points in the second half). Ireland dominated the Italians scoring 20 points in the first half and 31 in the second half to give the market a result of 620. It all turned sick for them in the last minute in Paris two hours later but the client was too busy to care as he was counting and drinking his way through a €3,500 profit.

A Manchester United goal scoring blitz, is there a more awesome sight currently in world football? One client didn't think so against Bolton on Saturday as he sold the slightly more volatile market of United's Team Goal Rush at 23 for £50 (0 goals = 0 points, 1 = 10 points, 2 = 20 points, 3 = 33 points, 4 = 50 points, 5 = 70 points, 6+ = 100 points). In the first half United produced what was reported by many to be the best half of football they have played this season. The punter was left reeling as The Reds scored three goals in nine minutes as well as adding a fourth in the second half to bring the make-up to 50 points and leave the client staring at a £1,350 loss.

No team has surely ever had a worse World Cup than Pakistan. An early defeat to hosts West Indies was the least of their problems as they crashed out of the tournament in dramatic and tragic fashion. Against Ireland last Saturday one client bought Pakistan's supremacy at a mighty 102 for £4. Ireland won the toss and put them into bat, which the buying client would certainly have been happy with! Pakistan proceed to collapse with Kamran Akmal top scoring with a measly 27 as the 'blarney army' won with three wickets in hand, meaning the supremacy made up at -30 and the client lost £528. Although the losses he sustained must have seemed insignificant as later that evening world cricket lost one of its nice guys.

Formula One You can forget Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton is the new British sensation on everyone's lips. McLaren's whizz-kid made a dream F1 debut when grabbing a podium spot in Oz last Sunday and he's up two points to 15-18 on our Drivers Championship Index (By the way, Button is down four points to 2-4. Cheer up Jenson!)

Ferrari may have opened the season with victory 'down under', but McLaren weren't too disheartened, second and third placings means they are just two points off Ferrari in the team standings. Ron Dennis' Woking based outfit is up six points to 30-33 on our Constructors Championship Index.

FA Cup Tottenham's players (and one mad fan) were off target on Monday night allowing Chelsea to book their place in the FA Cup semis. Jose's men, who remain on course for the quadruple, are up 18 points to 77-80 on our FA Cup Index.

Super League The Saints turned sinners again last week as Hull put them to the sword at the KC Stadium. The defending Super League and Grand Final champions are down four points to 83-87 on our Super League Outright Index following that setback.

Salford were red with rage last Friday. Not only did they lose to Wigan on home soil, they also lost the services of their influential club captain, Malcolm Alker, who suffered a knee injury in the same match. They are up eight points to 16-19 on our Super League Bottom 3 Index.

Guinness Premiership Bristol have fallen from grace in recent weeks. The former pace-setters find themselves 10 points adrift of Leicester following their hammering by Saracens. They are down four points to 22-25 on our Guinness Premiership Outright Index.

European Football Valencia may be still going strong in Europe, but have they taken their eye off the domestic front? Their shock defeat against Racing Santander has left them six points off the pace and has also seen them drop seven points to 22-25 on our Primera Liga Championship Index.
