It was quite simply a match that had everything. Goals, cards, penalties, slaps, slips, blood and tears. The Champions League Final between Manchester United and Chelsea will go down as one of the most exciting in history. One punter will be able to organise his own street parade after buying Converted Penalties in the match at 4.4 for £4,000. Even though spot kicks were always a strong possibility, not many would have thought that the action leading up to them would have been so entertaining. But when the Slovakian referee blew for the end of extra time the buy at 4.4 couldn't have looked more attractive! Tevez, Ballack, Carrick, Belletti coverted. Ronaldo missed but Lampard, Hargreaves, Cole and Nani sent our man soaring into profit. Then Terry missed when he had the chance to win it. This must have been incredible for the client as the Chelsea skipper's miss meant for even more penalties! Three more were scored before Anelka's was saved by Van der Sar to bring the total converted to 11 and make a very happy punter £26,400 richer.

If you thought that the FA Cup Final was one to forget then spare a thought for this punter who may never be able to banish the memories of Saturday 17th May 2008. Our man had not one, not two, not EVEN three losers. But from his four bets on the match he had four losers! The tale of the tape read: Buy of goals in the game at 2.4 for £200, buy of Total Goal Minutes at 121 for £5, sell of 2nd Match Goal at 64 for £20 and an in-play buy of bookings at 45 for £10. So our man thought it was going to be entertaining then! To be fair the game started off brightly with both sides intent on creating excitement. But as soon as Kanu opened the scoring on 37 minutes the match as a spectacle ground to a halt and even the ref could only find it in himself to brandish his yellow card three times. The 1-0 final scoreline: ecstasy for Pomey fans. The £1,370 overall loss: agony for our man.

Championship Playoffs Hull were buzzing after their 6-1 aggregate romp against the Hornets. Phil Brown's Tigers are up 9.5 to 18.5-19.5 on our Championship Playoff Index ahead of Saturday’s Final.
Euro 2008 Apparently Portuguese shirts are selling like hot cakes in the Manchester area. Wonder why? Portugal are also proving popular choices in our Euro 2008 Outright Index. Scolari's men are up two to 33-36.
Mildly interesting / useless sporting fact of the week Portsmouth's FA Cup hero Nwankwo Kanu's first name means: Baby boy born on Nkwo market day (Nkwo is a particular market day in Igbo, Nigeria).
