Who would have thought it? The Scousers were robbed on Wednesday night! After clearly being the best team on the night Liverpool came away with nothing but that's more than we did as some of you lot helped yourself to some meaty profits on the Total Goals and Player Goal Minutes markets.

Don't forget that as well as your good and bad trades we want to hear your views on what you think of The Mole. Tell us if there's anything that you would like to see improved or added and the best, most 'constructive' replies sent into themole@sportingindex.com will get a £50 football supremacy bet on the England v Brazil match at Wembley next Friday.

Yours in sport

One of the great things about spread betting is that you don't have to have a view about the result or the quality of the game in order to have an exciting bet. Take the Cup Final for example, a dreadful game where it was difficult to make money but one client found a way. He had a dabble on one of our specials called 'The Joy of Secs' and bought £5 at 160 (longest stretch, in seconds, of the match without a stoppage). No worrying about who scores or lifts the trophy with this bet as Chelsea and United managed to keep the ball in going for 240 seconds during yet another dull passage of play. The punter didn't care though scooping a £400 profit, almost enough to buy a programme at the new Wembley!

What a finish to the season in Spain! If you haven't heard about it then listen, as Real, Barcelona, Sevilla and Valencia are fighting it out for the title and it could go down to the wire. Barcelona tore apart Atletico Madrid last weekend and one client made off with a sackful of cash after buying Barcelona's Team Goal Minutes at 63 for £20. The Catalan giants simply blew away Atletico at the Vicente Calderỏn winning 6-0 with the goals being scored at the business end of the match to give the market a final make-up of 357. This netted the client a fabulous £5,880 - who said that the Premiership is the best league in the world?

Now for one of those losing trades that went from bad to worse in a heartbeat. On Wednesday night one client suffered about as much agony as some of the Liverpool fans stuck at John Lennon Airport. He sold the time of the winning goal at 35 for £5 (the time of the goal that wins the game) in the Champions League Final. With Milan 2-0 up with eight minutes to go the punter was only looking at losing ten times his stake (because the winning goal would be Inzaghi's first after 45 mins) until Lewis Moody, sorry Dirk Kuyt, popped up to score an 89th minute consolation goal for The Reds which meant the winning goal was now Inzaghi's second in the 82nd minute and the client experienced a 47 point swing which saw him lose £235.

You remember last week's good trade with the punter who won big by getting with Leicester? Well unfortunately he falls into the other category this week after getting with them once again. The client bought Leicester's Multi-Points at 210 for £3 in the all-English affair that was the Heineken Cup Final. To most people's surprise Wasps out-thought and out-muscled the treble chasing Tigers to limit them to only 9 points in the first half and zilch in the second half. This was not good for the punter's bet which requires points to be scored in the both halves in order to avoid losing one's bananas. But Fyffes were lost as the market made up a doughnut, meaning the client lost £630.

The Playoffs The cider was flowing in Somerset last Friday night after Yeovil booked their place at Wembley in miraculous fashion against Forest at the City Ground. Russell Slade's side, who lock horns with Blackpool on Sunday, are up 15 and a half points to 16-17 on our League One Playoff Index.

European Football 6-0! Yes you read it correctly, 6-0. Just when you thought Barcelona had taken their foot off the gas, they roared into life and how! The Catalan giants are up one point to 46-48 on our Primera Liga - Championship Index after their romp against Atletico Madrid.

Super League Wigan failed to build on their impressive cup victory against Leeds, as they slumped to defeat at the hands of relegation fancies Hull KR. Brian Noble's men are down seven points to 29-32 on our Super League - Outright Index.

Poor old Salford, not only have they been shipping points left, right and centre in recent weeks, they also sacked head coach Karl Harrison after almost five years of loyal service at The Willows. The Reds are up eight points to 40-43 on our Super League - Bottom 3 Index.
