One of the (if not the) games of the tournament on Wednesday night as Germany booked their place in Sunday's final with a dramatic victory against a desperately unlucky Turkey. One client would've had a night as good as any frankfurter munching German after being one of the few lucky souls to buy Philipp Lahm's Goal Minutes at a miniscule 2 for £100. What possessed our man to buy the defender, who before the game had scored just 8 times in his career, we will never know. The match was an international classic, with the bright Turkey taking the lead before the delightfully named Schweinsteiger hit back for Ze Germans before half time. Then, after Klose had scored on 79, the late-show-loving Turks fired back with only four minutes left. The match was closer than a storm in Vienna when, in the last minute, the diminutive Lahm latched onto a fine pass by Hitzlsperger and slotted home to end Turkey's dream and leave our Finance Director 'Lahm'enting the punter's £8,800 profit.

The first week at Wimbledon has seen two amazing things happen. Hardly a drop of rain has fallen (cue the weekend downpour) and the men's 3rd and 4th seeds have left us early. The weather will be of no concern to one punter who bought both Novak Djokovic and Nikolay Davydenko on our Outright Index at 25 for £30 and 5 for £500 respectively (winner: 60, runner-up: 40, lose semi: 20, lose quarter: 10 and last 16: 5). Our man would have expected a run from at one least one of his boys ranked the best in the world bar Federer and Nadal but it wasn't to be. Firstly the brilliantly Welsh sounding Davydenko was sent crashing out 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 by Benjamin Becker (no relation from Boris' restaurant closet encounter) on day two. Then on Wednesday, the man that some critics rate as highly as the current world's top two, took on the perennial underachiever Marat Safin on Centre Court. Djokovic was overpowered by the former world number one as he served 10 double faults in the match. The Serbian crashed out in straight sets 6-4, 7-6, 6-2 to ensure that the client's two picks were settled early on our Index, leaving him £3,250 arrears.

Formula One Lewis Hamilton was a cool, calm and collected rookie F1 driver last year, but events have taken a turn for the worse this season as the young Brit keeps falling foul of race officials. He's down eight to 28-31 on our F1 Drivers Championship Index after trailing in 10th last Sunday at Magny Cours.
Super League There are many who thought French outfit, Les Catalans, would have imploded by now, mais non. They consolidated third spot and moved within three points of the Rhinos at the top after blowing away Warrington 52-14 last Saturday. Mick Potter's men are up four to 27-29 on our Super League Outright Index.
Big Brother BB said it was going to get tough this year and it's staying true to its word so far. Rex and Mohamed were jailed for almost 20 hours for discussing nominations and it doesn't seem to have done their chances much good. The stylish chef from Hampstead is down four to 3-5 on our Big Brother Index.
Mildly interesting / useless sporting fact
The self confessed "mentally unstable" Marat Safin, who was once dubbed "the tennis of the future" by Pete Sampras, reportedly smashed 48 rackets during 1999.
