A Mole first last week as no one successfully predicted 58 as the amount of goals scored in last week's FA Cup 4th round matches. But at an average of 3.6 goals a game, perhaps it's not too surprising that no-one succeeded!

So 'A-Mo' is in another Grand Slam final! To celebrate I'll give a £250 Total Goals bet (up £50 because no one won last week) to the client out of the hat who can correctly predict how many games Andy Murray will win in Sunday morning's Australian Open final. Wayne Rooney, as a footballer, he's got everything. As a looker, he's a little less well off! He's the most dynamic British footballer we've seen in a long time but don't you think that ginger beard has to go? Coleen obviously likes it, must be some sort of fetish (I'll ask Mrs Mole). Anyway, the man Rooney is on fire and has recently made one punter a lot of money. In Saturday's league game against Hull we had a £50 buy of the striker's Goal Minutes at 38. With United fans preferring to hurl abuse at the Glazer brigade instead of cheering on their own team, the 'green and yellows' opened the scoring through Wazza in the eighth minute. Hull offered nothing but it was sweaty bum time for our man as the score remained 1-0 with just ten minutes to go. But in a statement of pure class Rooney silenced the anti-Glazers with a stunning 11 minute hat-trick! The punter was in dreamland as goals came in the 82nd, 86th and 90th minutes. 266 was the total, a record for Rooney and a record £11,400 scoop for the client. To make matters a little worse for our bottom line, the same man bought a cheeky £60 of Rooney GMs on Wednesday as well! What a week!

Here's one for the volatility voyeurs out there. At the weekend we were offering Aggregate Total Goal Minutes for the 11 FA Cup ties played on Saturday. Basically it's a bet that should come with a supply of gas and air. We total up what we think the Goal Minutes are going to make up in each of the games and you decide if we're right or wrong. 1,460 minutes was what our best came up with and that led to a £2 sell by one adrenaline junkie. The action kicked off in low-key fashion with just three goals in two early games. Then it turned sour as goals rained in all over the country - and they weren't coming early either. Six at West Brom (including a 90 minute effort), six at Cardiff (including two goals in injury time). Plus EIGHT in the last ten minutes courtesy of other matches. Chuck those in with that Jermaine Beckford penalty six minutes into added time at Spurs and 2,130 minutes (35 hours or a day and a half) was the final make-up - a £1,340 loss.

Football Chelsea's reward for beating Preston was another nice draw, a home tie against Cardiff. The Blues are now unbeaten in nine outings and will fancy their chances of scaling those 107 steps on 15th May. Carlo's chargers are up 12 points on our FA Cup Outright Index to 63-66. Just who's going to stop them?

How hungry are Man City now to win some silverware? With a 4-2 victory over Scunthorpe in the last round, a home tie against Stoke to come and a very bitter taste following their Carling Cup exit they will feel that they HAVE to make it to Wembley. Mancini's blues are up 10 points on our FA Cup Outright Index to 48-51.

NFL Peyton Manning was the star of the show for Indy as the Colts picked apart the New York Jets defence with a 30-17 victory on Sunday. The 2007 champions have been the team to beat all season and will take some stopping in this year's Florida showpiece. The Colts are our big jollies, up 14 points on our Super Bowl Outright Index to 89-90.5.

Sporting video fun

First this cracker from Fleetwood Town's Jamie Milligan. I love the way he strikes it! While the legendary David Attenborough makes a humorous attempt to describe some other types of animals. The top class footballer.
